Case Studies
To extend audience engagement beyond a single visit, John Proctor Is the Villain launched an Spirit Week series featuring buzzy, fan-forward activations with brands including Van Leeuwen, Milk Bar, SoulCycle, and Levain. Each partnership tied into Spirit Week-themed moments that rewarded repeat attendance, generated social chatter, and deepened the show’s community.
Highlights included Van Leeuwen bringing its ice cream truck directly to the theatre, creating a highly visible, shareable moment that energised fans and passersby alike. Collectively, the activations turned the production into a multi-day experience, driving repeat visits, cultural buzz, and organic brand alignment.
Opening Night Sponsorship
Urban Decay’s sponsorship put the brand in the spotlight, securing prime visibility across the All Nighter opening night experience.
The partnership delivered in-theatre product placement on every seat, high-impact branding on a step-and-repeat featured in press photos, and direct engagement with celebrity talent at an exclusive after-party activation. A co-branded social post with the brand’s 10M followers, plus additional press coverage, extended the brand’s reach, aligning Urban Decay with the energy and boldness of an Off-Broadway hit.
Urban Decay fully funded the All Nighter opening night celebration and generated significant incremental revenue.
Opening Night Sponsorship
Ann Taylor and Clairol were secured as paid opening night sponsors for Liberation, driving significant incremental sponsorship revenue while making a strategic brand investment rooted in the show’s 1970s setting and themes. The partnership highlighted iconic brands that rose to prominence during the era and have continued to support and empower women for more than four decades.
Ann Taylor received high-impact, co-branded visibility across premium opening night touchpoints, including a programme insert and prominent step-and-repeat placement. Clairol extended the partnership through an opening night party activation, engaging guests with haircare product giveaways and creating a tactile, on-brand experience.
Opening Night Sponsorship
Carvel partnered with The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as opening night sponsor, underwriting the opening night celebration through a partnership rooted in shared themes of youthful nostalgia. Ice cream was a natural fit, evoking the ritual of celebrating big middle-school milestones, which sits at the heart of the show.
As part of the partnership, Carvel was seamlessly integrated into the opening night script in collaboration with Rachel Sheinkin, ensuring the brand mention felt authentic to the world of the show. Additional touchpoints included co-branded programme inserts aligned with the nostalgia theme, a Carvel sundae bar at the opening night after-party, and collaborative Instagram content, creating a joyful, culturally resonant moment that extended beyond the stage.
